"Operation Christmas Hope"
is a fund established by Patrick M. Tarasovitch and the 99th Infantry
Divsion Historical Society,Inc. from Erie ,Pennsylvania.
The intent of "Operation Christmas Hope" is to help
a local wounded soldier and his family during the Christmas Holiday.
The monies that are collected through our dogtag sales, as well
as some of the proceeds from the reenactor registrations at the
"Bridge at Remagen" event, are added to this worthy
fund.
This Christmas 2011being our
first year, we had the honor to have Sean and Stephanie Kazmierczak
as our guests at our Squad Christmas party in Waterford, PA. Sean
was a US Marine that was wounded by a roadside bomb while on convoy
duty in Iraq. We hope our donation of $1,000 will help them with
celebrating Christmas and the joys from the season with family
and friends.
As reenactors of the 99th Infantry
Division we feel it is time to honor our current local wounded
men and women who have served our country. Through "Operation
Christmas Hope" we feel that they too should not be forgotten.
